I think they days leading up to adding a baby to your family are best described as “surreal”. You have everything all lined up …
The diaper bag for the hospital is packed, the blankets are washed, the bassinet is set up and ready …
The diapers and wipes are bought and sitting by the changing station. Shiny, new pacifiers wait patiently …
Even the car seat sits ready for the baby to come home in.
And yet, it’s still hard to imagine, even though I’ve been through this two times already, that the wiggling and kicking in my stomach will soon morph into a small infant. Or rather, that there already is a small infant there, and we’re just waiting for the time to get him out.
We’re down to less than a week, my mom is coming soon, and I’m more tired and sore than I was with either of my girls … and yet, it’s still all so surreal. A baby boy? For Real?

oh, oh oh!! it's time?? sometimes it's easy to forget how fast things go on when you're following on a blog - although I'm sure it wasn't fast for you. I can't wait to "meet" John - are you guys still going with that name? I'll be thinking of you - just relax and get him here!
