Pinky and the Brain

Anyone remember this? Well, C and I did, so we introduced the girls to it. Now we have this:
Yep, we're bringing them up right!

Pickled Beets!

The only thing that’s really thrived in my garden this year are my beets. 

We’ve been eating beet greens, and I finally decided it was time to do something more with them.  My grandma makes pickled beets that I just love, so I called her up and got the recipe.  Then we tackled the garden:

The girls were excited to help … even if my green onions took a trampling while we dug up the beets!

Washing the beets was almost as much fun as picking them!

Then I cooked them up, skinned them, and canned them.

Where was J this whole time, you’re wondering?  He was hanging on my leg, fussing and wanting up.  He was in my left arm while I tried to help wash beets with my right hand.  He was sitting on the kitchen floor crying while I tried to finish up. Basically, he was reminding me why it’s so hard to get things done these days. 

Good thing he’s cute enough to make up for it!

Play Ball!!!

J has a new game he plays. He throws the ball, then he goes to get it, batting it around the floor sometimes. We have tried and tried to get good videos of it, but sometimes the ball runs under the couch, sometimes his older sister steals it, sometimes the camera runs out of battery ...

J's almost walking!

J really thinks he's a walker now. If he has to let go of something and crawl, he gets upset. Sometimes L helps walk him around the house, but I really had to laugh when he figured out how to use the girls' strollers to hold on to. Of course, like all kids, he stops doing it whenever the camera comes out, so you only get what I could get on camera ...

Cute Kiddos

L got tired of having long hair, so I took her in to get it cut.  The stylist asked if she wanted bangs, and she immediately said yes.  She’s very happy with them.  I keep doing a double-take when I see her, but she’s very happy.

Communication

J has always been a vocal baby, and now he's really startting to use his voice. He whines. Quite a lot. Whenever we tell him "no" or whenever he has trouble getting something he wants. I have to try not to laugh, because it's so cute, it cracks me up!
