Well, nothing major exciting, but life is going on here.
S got a hair cut. She loved her long hair, but I made the mistake of trying to cut it one night, after a long day, after baths and before bed. I couldn’t seem to get the two sides even, and after I’d given her a wonderful mullet, I took her to Mastercuts and had the girl there fix it.
L asked me if I would teach her how to “sew”. She’s been watching me work on a blanket, and she’s excited to try it on her own. I figured the worst that could happen was that she’d spend some time with some spare yarn and a hook and make a bunch of knots. I was surprised when she came back to me about a half hour later with a good, 3 ft long chain. Now we’re working on single crochet.
I never did get around to posting pics of the fair this year. Seriously, I really look forward to this. Our first year here we went by ourselves. The next year, we took some friends. This year, we talked my parents and brother into coming up and hanging out with us. S was much more brave around the animals this year. (You can see how long her braids were in this pic.)
Grandma spoiled the girls and bought them tickets for the rides, so they got to have some extra fun. Notice, they’re both actually ON the carrousel horses … that doesn’t always happen.
L got introduced to beef ribs … and ate 2 of them!!! This from my daughter who wouldn’t eat protein of any kind for a long time!
We finished off the weekend with a trip out to Niagra Springs. L stepped into a hole and sank down into the mud. I thought for a while that I wasn’t going to be able to find her croc, but I did, right when I was about to give up.
