Laughing Baby Boy

Late at night, when J was still awake and slap-happy, I got him laughing. C grabbed the camera and got a video of it. He wasn't laughing quite so hard by the time C got the video out, but we still got a good shot of it.

And just so you know, I'd been reading my friend's blog about kicking a chicken who'd been attacking her little boy - so that's where the kicking the chicken comes in. I'm not an animal hater, I was just laughing at a friend's funny story ... that happened to be about kicking a chicken. :-)<

Baby Blessing

We had the chance this last weekend to travel down to Utah to have a baby blessing with both mine and C’s families.  J is four months old now, and I couldn’t believe that he fit into the 6-9 month size blessing outfit.

IMG_2855 I thought the little cap that came with it was adorable, but C disagreed.  I turned to my mom for backup, and she surprised me by saying, “I’m with C.  I don’t like it.”  Come on, isn’t this adorable?

IMG_2857But I lost, and we left the cap at home when we went to the blessing.  We had a good time with our family.  Thank you to everyone who came!

Good Bye Grandma

I can’t believe I got pics of Grandma with J and with L, but not with S last time we saw her.  Sad.

The poem my grandpa picked for the back of the funeral program for my grandma:

The next time I hold your hand

S.N.Paul

The next time I hold your hand, we’ll be in heaven,

But Heaven seems so far away.

You flew with angel’s wings back home,

And rain falls on me today.

The space between us is marked only by time,

And time is fleeting, we well know,

Though I can’t see you, you’re by my side

As I walk this path down below.

The next time I hold your hand, we’ll be in heaven,

The cares of this world far behind,

We’ll embark on a new journey together,

Always as one, forever entwined.

Happy Birthday to my Big Girl!

I can't believe my oldest daughter is so big! We celebrated her birthday this week with a few friends.

She was very excited about her presents.

Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa O for the adorable floor puzzle!

L used her money from Grandpa P to pick out this doll at the store. Thanks Grandpa!

Tubing!

A couple in our ward owns Magic Mountain Ski Resort (C apparently knew all about this, but I sure didn't!), and invited everyone up for a ward activity to go tubing. They have a special tubing hill, with a tow rope to pull you up to the top, so you don't even have to walk. L really wanted to go, but I wasn't sure the long trip there and back in the rain and snow, with possible snow too deep to get our car through at the top would be worth it (someone who'd been up two days before said his 4WD truck had been fishtailing and got stuck a few times). I sucked it up and we went anyway, and I'm so glad we did!

It started raining pretty bad on us as we headed out, and we weren't sure if we were going to make it ... but as we got closer, the rain turned to snow. Better for tubing, but it sure made C worried about getting back out.

My hat got caught on the pull line one time, on the way up the hill, and S took it upon herself to hold my hat on from then on, so most of my tubing experience was going down the hill blind.

I put L in a tube of her own and put S on my lap. I think it worked out well that way. I wasn't about to put C on a tube, less than two months out of back surgery. Poor thing, he had to stay in the clubhouse and take care of J.

You can see the line for the pull up the mountain on the right of the screen.

Post- Christmas Cuteness

This just might be my favorite picture of J so far.  I just wanted a pic of his first Christmas, with some of the things he got, and then he started smiling so cute …

One thing, when you breastfeed your babies, you have to explain a little to your older kids what you’re doing.  And then, if your older kids are girls and very much into being moms, inevitably, they’ll mimic you.  And one day, they’ll steal your boppy!

IMG_2655 But she was just so cute about the whole thing!

IMG_2657 And L is just my big girl now, convinced she’s a mommy, too, with her baby that she’s carried around since Christmas.  We’ve explained that her cousins gave it to her, but she keeps saying it’s the baby that Santa brought her. IMG_2662
